Hopefully they never meet as it would be the beginning of the end for both sports.........if they did meet it wouldnt even be competitive.

So do you think Conor Mcgregor knows something about boxing that Pacquiao,De leHoya,Castillo,Moseley,Alvarez,Cotto etc etc didnt know about boxing ?

would you fancy a scrap in a caravan park for a hundred yoyos, a 3 legged horse a cart with a wonky wheel and a back full of nettle stings and crustys shite stained doc leaves? Or would you rather fig

A boxing match can't be compared to a ufc fight the discipline is much harder for mma fighters and the fights are much harder of course there will still be hard boxing matches and there will still be bad mma fights but on the whole mma is a much harder discipline

" harder ".......what is harder ?.....a training camps a training camp.... a fights a fight.

In terms of punishment/injury far more boxers have been killed or seriously injured than mma fighters and the reason why is very simple logic.

If a boxer wants a breather he grabs his opponent. Can't do that in mma as you know or you'll be put on yer arse.

A boxer cant grab his opponent the referee will call break is he does........an mma fighter can go to the ground get in a clinch and stay there for minutes on end before the referee will stand them up.......the only real way a boxer can sneak a breather is on the move an mma fighter can literally lay down and rest his bodyweight on an opponent.

He will call break but a boxer who gets hit and feels it certainly grab ons mate to save getting ko'd.

Your showing your lack of knowledge there and with the training camp comment unless you've experienced it you don't know what your talking about. I've found a lot of old men make the same mistake

Whilst in ufc the best hands mcgregor has fought were nate diaz and he literally got slapped silly and dragged into really deep waters lost one and took one by a split decision. So ask yourself this would nate diaz fare well against a mayweather or canelo ? It's a completely different style and can't be considered similar

Bang on mate and imo the only reason CM took things to the ground with a legit Gracie black belt then gave his back up because he knew he was done and would be knocked out!
Slapped silly...?

For one thing mayweather could not take punishment like Nate does. Conor admitted he underestimated the chin of Nate....he burnt out by not being able to finish him early like he thought he would( big headed). Then lost the fight.

He didn't jump to the ground and give up he....he was tiring and had to try something else. If he managed to get on top of Nate he could have got a breather, got to the next round then who knows what would have happened.

Of course that didn't happen and Nates great ground game made it easy to finish Conor who tapped far to easy..(tiredness)

Still...Mayweather would punch his lights out in the end.

Tried to go to ground with a BB BJJ for a breather?? Come on lab, watch it back he was at the end and imo and only imo tried to avoid being knocked out! He can blame losing that fight on anything he wants but at the end of the day nate finished him! Think the 3rd fight is needed with them two to settle it but I think CM would win so long as he can defend take downs
If a boxer wants a breather he grabs his opponent. Can't do that in mma as you know or you'll be put on yer arse.

Only thing you can do is get it on the ground. Although Nate is far superior on the ground it would not be impossible for Conor to have got on top and got a breather. That didn't happen abd he was choked out.

Do you honestly think he took a dive?

Would like to see a 3rd fight. Nate would want to get it to the ground though. Even he knows he can't out box Conor...??

Not impossible no but not very wise even more so when he was shot and struggling! Was a fatal move mate and he would have known it!

Vast experience of being knocked out, ask Gnash. I love that.

maybe not vast but think he got carried out on few micky duff undercards, , iv a few vids of nash he looked well untill he got hit
You piss off i was knocked down many a time but never out cold competitive or sparring. :tongue2:
got any video of your best fight gnasher? If don't mind putting up or someone else doing so

I was fighting in the 80,s mate ive got a few old vhs tapes tucked away somewhere but nothing worth bragging about a few lads made it big out of our gym Bruno/Mason/Kaylor/Hussein/Jimmy Mac but most of us who started out with a bit of hype behind us ended up plodding out a career as sparring partners or journeymen as they call them today.....thats life.

if mcgregor has a boxing licence is it a separate sport and not under contract if he walks away from UFC which is highly likely if he gets a 50 million payday and he hasn't much left to prove in UFC and probably knows it's all down hill from here. Champions tend to get knocked off their throne in quick succession in UFC with the different styles compared to boxing and it's a short shelf life and mcgregor knows that . Get the big payday and get out. With mcgregors talkability and clever media and franchising skills he will still make plenty of money without the hardship and discipline of training and diet and live the easy life. From speaking to lads that know him they say he likes to party in more ways than one.

If Mcgregor had any real confidence in beating Mayweather he would take a couple of tune up fights against top 10 opposition to prove he is worthy of challenging an all time great boxer.......theres one very good reason why he wont do that.

a tough era to ply your trade in that :victory:

I think Mcgregor is a very charismatic and likeable lad its not difficult to see why he has risen in popularity so quickly......but ultimately he is just a fighter.......he is the best stand up boxer type i have seen in that sport but he is still light years away from Mayweather.......put him in with a top 10 rated boxer and see how he fairs before taking the public for idiots and creating a huge fighting event based on 1 mans fighting prowess and the other mans charisma.....my bet is he wouldnt be competitive with any top 10 boxer let alone one of the best ever.

I'd be surprised if he was competitive with any half decent boxer top 10 top 100 or whatever, I don't think he's all that good at standup for an mma fighter either, I've seen better his biggest asset is his gob. I would however like to see a good pro boxer take time to learn take down defense and some ground game and then try his hand at mma

So if it's boxing Mayweather will win, and if it's UFC McGregor will win.

And its taken you 8 pages of arguing for it to finally sink in

Not sunk in, your still bleating on about boxing, yawn.

Exactly mate the world of fighting has moved on boxing don't cut it anymore all the talent goes in to mma that's why the fighters that are champions today wouldn't even be a contender 20 /30 years ago and unless you've experienced mma you don't realise how hard it is that laying on the floor that people think is a rest is twice as hard as standup

If your on the bottom it's not a rest. On top it is.

Not necessarily. It might look easy like your just resting but it's constant work it's actually easier to rest in boxing than mma
