keeganrees 196
Abit of bad news .. pup I bred has had an accident that we don't know what happened .. I've had her back to give her some rehab hoping it could possibly come right .. spoken to Robert meek over the phone as he's not available for a couple weeks .. here's a pic of the pups leg .. ATM she cant bend it .. the vets told her cage rest for a week before X-ray which I think has done more harm than good because the legs now frozen and has sort of forgot to how to use it .. vets don't know what's wrong and when she came back was well underweight which I'm not best pleased about .. Robert seems to think from what I've said she'll be fine but just seeing has any one experienced this and did the dog come good Quote Link to post

slip lead 862
Might just be the photo, but leg, seems to be to far forward below the knee. Major swelling can seize a joint up restricting the joint, so hopefully see an improvement in a week to 10 days, Running a hosepipe on it will help re juice the swelling.. 1 Quote Link to post
keeganrees 196
Yeah your right mate she seems to better since I had her back Friday night hope it'll come right Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
Could the knee be dislocated? That would account for the odd angle of the leg and the fact that she can't bend it. Can't believe a vet just said leave it and rest! If the knee is in the wrong place then no amount of rest will put it right. If the ligaments have slipped out of place it needs urgent attention. See another vet! 2 Quote Link to post

See another vet! Or kneecap maybe? Just a guess but "patella luxation" is not uncommon. 1 Quote Link to post

If they slip out, the joint cannot bend as it should. Needs attention now. 1 Quote Link to post
keeganrees 196
She's been x rayed neither came up she's getting better as I said putting more weight on it and trying to use It .. Ligament damage should show on a x ray I've been told She's in no pain at all which is the weird thing unless she's a tough pup Quote Link to post

Maximus Ferret 2,065
Glad to hear that mate, though there's often no pain with a dislocated kneecap, it just locks the leg up. If I remember right it can be popped back in and sometimes relocates itself but does tend to re occur. Best of luck with it whatever it is. 1 Quote Link to post
