Gun Dog Gwp

Recommended Posts

I work mine on upland/rough shooting. Very capable dog and does well in the thick cover, water retrieves and hunts dead. Can't ask much more I generally just let the dog hunt and stay out of its way. The heat is very hard on this breed and don't hunt as well in higher temperatures. Was a bit hard mouthed at first but was able to clear that up quickly. Also territorial in a kennel space but works well with other dogs in the field.

Full of energy then. What do you mean odd gallop?

Hard to explain their gallop but their trot is as smooth as you like. I'd second what HPR, and Naustroms said. They can handle most hunting and really come into their own after the shot. If you have the time and temperament to train one and hunt it a lot you should be pretty happy with one. Here is an old picture of mine doing what I had the most trouble teaching him to do. Sit quietly. He would actually hold his breath when the geese were coming into the decoys.
