What's peoples thoughts on the Hatsan Escort? Thinking of getting one and just wanted a bit of info.

There marmite mate either love them or hate them . Me personally I have had 3 first one had cycling problems the second one was perfect never missed a beat I put 21g 7 1/2 to 36 g 3,s and the 3rd one I had was mint aswell my mate bought one not long ago give 150 for it and it's Bob on never misses a beat and his son puts 21 g through his it shoots and kills just the same as my 600 pound franchi

If your lucking to spend as little as possible Hatsan Escorts are fine I've had one for years and shoot 24grm steel on pigeons,as with all semis expect occasionally to have a cycling fault especially with very light loads,mine likes 70mm case length, my semi seems to get better with age,cannot really fault the Escort giving the price you pay for them.

I've had mine for four and a half years. Never missed a beat, throws 21g 8' and 27g 15'. Took it on holiday this year and put two slabs through it with no problems.

Keep it clean, and change the gas seal every twelve month or so, I have had one for a few yr now and it fits the bill of a vermin gun, doesn't seem to mind what I feed it on, from 3 inch magnum BB's down, the early ones were poor to say the least, the newer guns are far better, I have other shotguns which I use, but use this gun gets all the shit work and it takes the abuse well, each to his own,

Had mine years only had one problem with it a Horse shoe bit of metal snapped that that makes the action work went to gunshop bought the bit £2 and clipped it in works fine so cheap gun works well cheap fix if it goes ??

I've got one it has its moments strange thing is it doesn't like oil clean it and it plays up

I've got one but wouldn't buy another

But I wouldn't get rid of this one

Had mine 6-7 years

Think I paid £250 ish new 3'12 goose and general wild fowling gun.No complaints from me at all.

I understand (although I have no personal experience) that the newer versions have addressed some of the earlier versions issues.

 

First hand personal experience says they needed to, the early ones suffered from poor design, poor quality control and poor manufacturing tolerances, they were seriously ammo fussy, jammed regularly, fell apart and dangerous!
