jonnie bravo 572
Ey up folks. Just bought a local year book which has a section of the local river that contains barbel. Nothing huge, upto 5-6lb from what I hear, but I'm quite keen to get one, as I've never caught one or had the opportunity to before. I'm just after some advice on simple but effective rigs and tactics and swims to look out for Cheers Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
TBH I wouldn't waste time fishing the Aire for barbel. Yes, they are there, but they are uncommon in most stretches. Why not drive to the swale where there's tons of them matey? 1 Quote Link to post
jonnie bravo 572
Yeh I get what you are saying JD, but I just want to be able to nip somewhere for a couple of hours fishing on an evening- when I get chance to go for the day it's always the coast for me. Quote Link to post
