Brocock Or Ultra

Being as nearly 30 have viewed this, I make the first jump and say the ultra. Especially for a young un.

I,m not fussed really mate theyre both good guns he,ll be able to shoot either ......anything for sale.....

A lot of people rate the Ultra but, the one that I had for a while got right on my tits - I don't mind rifles with a small cylinder & low shot count, I also don't mind unregulated rifles - I just think the 2 things together in the same rifle is a wind up.

An Ultra could be a very good lightweight rifle for a young 'un if you can get one that's had a regulator fitted or, if you fit one yourself.

I think while they're learning and becoming interested, such a small sweet spot is an extra pain in the arse that they don't need.

 

I've got no experience of the Brocock.

 

How old is you're little 'un?

What will they use the rifle for?

How much do you want to spend on it?

 

....... I'll get my thinking cap on - there may be other options out there to make their life a little easier

Thinking of selling my. 22 bsa ultra se if that's the route you choose. Got it new in March just don't like the low shot count as has been mentioned. Feel free to message if your interested. Iv never owned the brocock so can't compare the two but the ultra is is very light, accurate and quiet.

People moan about the shot count of the ultra after they've purchased one! Surely you should look into the shot count before you buy one

Torchey if your bothered about a low shot count or an unregulated rifle then if I was you I'd get a secondhand ultra in good nick then send it to Carl Garbett for a regulator and bigger air cylinder...his prices are pretty good

Ultra all day long .

You can always have a reg fitted , longer cylinder , and a shroud fitted by Carl at airtech for about £180 i think and that would give you 90+ shots

Thanks for the replys as i said i,ll be interested in either he,s 9 this month and he done well enough with the ratcatcher so the next step up now....with the ultra is it 40 good shots if so that would be plenty for him?

Yeah around 40 good shots in 177 and around 50 good shots in 22

If he's only 9 the Brocock might be worth a look at, the stocks not the best finish but it'll be easier to handle!

One of the lads on here, Seamaster, has bought another Brocock after he thought the first was not so good but this time Chris says this is a cracking gun and very accurate. It has to be said however a few of the guys on airgun forum have got them and they are up to the Daystate standard with poor quality control meaning there have been issues with things not working properly or not at all, only minor like not being able to put air in but hey does that really matter....................

 

I think it is a case of if you get a good one, they are great but if you get a problem, it's back to Daystate or as in the case of two guys, they fixed them but should you have to do that on a new gun.
