When the chips are down and that sticky moment comes by ,you turn to the one organisation that youve religiously paid into every year since they were founded only for them to turn their backs and push

It's pretty obvious, any organisation that seems so intent on dreaming up new schemes to relieve its member and the people it's meant to represent of money instead of just getting on with the serious

Keep the fee down !!!!.......Jesus Christ what would it be otherwise ?!!

I work for BASC and I don't know any member of staff who has a Landrover, let alone a fully kitted out one. I have a Skoda

This is a staffing issue at BASC which is being resolved. No mention of money as far as I have heard.

That's all I can say at this time.

I find it insulting that BASC are all newsletters and emails when they are trying to promote stuff, but when an explanation is required, they tell us nothing.

Telling us so-and-so has resigned means nothing. That's the result, not the cause. Why did they resign and under what circumstances?

If senior staff are involved as well as 3 Council Members, as other posters seem to suggest, then BASC must watch its P's and Q's re employment law. Nothing is proved until its proved through proper process and you can bet if its senior staff, they know the implications for the employer.

If BASC dont do this correctly, as with any other employer and senior staff, there could be serious financial consequences for the organisation and its members.

What is perhaps more worrying is that both sides might eventually be seeking a no - fault exit from all this and that will cost money, a lot of money. Compromise agreements they are called. No -one will ever know about the sums involved if this method is used, since it will be a condition of the agreement that neither side discloses the terms of the Compromise Agreement. Such agreements can be cancelled and monies returned if disclosure is made.

I know this because they are used a lot for senior staff who no longer suit any organisation for whatever reason. It just means a parting of the ways with no-one blamed - hopefully BASC will have enough evidence to support their Members decisions since this decision, I believe, followed Council. The decision appears to have been contested at the time since the police were called by someone. Its also normal for anyone accused of any 'serious' disciplinary offence to be escorted from the premises by staff of the organisation, so that information relating to the potential 'offence' is not removed.

As for Council Members to resign, including the Chairman, you would have to know the detail and we don't and nothing is being disclosed so the two are probably intimately linked.

BASC Council meet on the 18th and for its members that may be the time to find some information but everything else will likely be 'pending' until its resolved and kept firmly under wraps, for obvious reasons.

I could however be completely wrong.

Liar,Liar pants on fire !!!! nobody said it was a land rover, 4 X 4 it said and name yourself if you can prove this, corruption and staff disputes was what was said, like most of the posh robbing bar stewards you say what you think will appease the membership, this BASC is only another financial institution these days looking at ways to screw the members of more money, nothing is done or involved with unless its for profit, the whole thing is wrong, WM

A post from another source - I cannot vouch for this personally so please take this with a health warning.

I found this on an Ex BASC staff member,s facebook page. thought it might help.

FYI
Chairman of council resigned and resign from council
Scottish representative resign from council
Welsh representative resigned from council.
Interim chief executive Christopher Graffius
Chief Executive suspended
Director of operations suspended then resigned
Director Wales and shooting standards suspended

Allegations of bullying made against 5 council members by the above members of staff.

New chairman of Council Glenser followed by the four other bullies.
Council now attacking and destroying members of staff.

Couldnt lie straight in their beds I'm afraid .Another institution gone sour through greed and complacency

You could not be farther from the truth if you tried - please don't try

BASC is not complacent; yes we try to raise funds from non-membership revenue to keep the membership fees down, for our members.

Peterm, sheep among wolves here at the moment, without a solid statement one way or the other you won't sway anyone,i won't lie I'm a bit ignorant on this subject and know little just what I've read, you say that's all you can say at this time,is that because you are instructed not to say anymore or don't actually know anymore to say,as I feel if it's the latter you'll not win this argument...

C Graffius has issued a statement that he is NOT pursuing an anti lead agenda.

The fight to protect shooting is always ever present, more so in the halls of Westminster. BASC is the only org with the clout to do this. Let's see the anti BASC bashers provide an org that could compete with them. There isn't one!
