15 month old Bull X Wheaton grey bitch for sale

Ive had this bitch for a couple of months now and was sorted out with her after wanting to get back into the dog game after a while off due to personal circumstances. I have done nothing with her other than daytime walking and rabbits we have come across on these walks but I do know for fact she has seen other things prior to me having her although I have seen her on videos I have not seen her go so I WILL NOT guarantee that this bitch is going to be a world beater.

Having said that she's a good strong bitch and has guts, she is also young and is not ruined so I have no reason to believe she will not turn out well.

Now the reason she has to go, I bought her in already having my older terrier bitch and my partners gsd. For the first month everything has been fine but jealousy has now set in and this bitch owns everything or wants to own it! She has not done any more than warning and back off bites to the other dogs and is in no way a nasty bitch but I have tried everything to stop this behaviour (probably a failure on my part!) I do not have the means to separate my dogs in kennels and due to work I need to trust my dogs when I am not there. I can't do this with her and I can no longer carry on with the separation. She needs to go before this escalates and I end up with ruined or injured dogs.

She is excellent with children and people and I have had no problem with other dogs on and off lead other than at home over objects or attention! She was kennelled prior to me having her but now lives in the house and crate.

I can txt or email pics so if you want any other information please pm me for mobile number and we will have a chat. I am putting £100 on the bitch and please do not be offended if I will not sell her to you. I need to know the home is right for this dog.

Thanks

You don't have to keep explaining yourself ,it sounds an honest advert to me,a lot of self appointed experts on here .

She's about 22/23 but I've not measured her, she's rough Wheaton coloured coat. Was at Pickering game fair if anyone saw her there. She strong but racy and seems quick enough for what I would need her for! I can't put pics on her as on phone but pm me your number and I'll send some no problem

Erm because as I said that is not a permanent arrangement, I have a tiny house and do not have the space to put 3 crates up! Not that I need to explain myself to you but when I took her on it was on the condition that she could return to original owner who was passing her on anyway. Now it's come to it he can't have her back!

Any one have any experience with shock collars and whether they think this would work? Think what you want of me for wanting to find a good home for the bitch but don't ever think that this is the first option I'm jumping at and that I'm not willing to try other things before she goes! I've never used a shock collar and I'm not sure whether this will affect the bitch or make her worse?

To answer some questions I'm being asked saves you having to message and ask me:

I have no idea what the bitch is like round stock especially sheep as I just don't get them round here. I would place my bets that she's not seen a lot of them and therefore is not stock broken. To some yes this may be a liability but we work arable so not a problem to me. I have said I will safety take her around some sheep so I have an indication as to what she's like and then I can give people a definite yes or no.

The bitch has not seen a lot and has in no way shape or form been rushed, pushed or over worked. She's as green as they come with a taste of a few things that she has been comfortable doing.

I will not sell you the dog if you won't even speak to me on the phone! I will ring anyone who doesn't have the means to ring me.

I am in no rush to get rid of the bitch and please don't be offended if I won't sell her to you, she will only go if the home.

Crabbers hit me with all you've got, I'm a big girl with broad shoulders, I can handle it lol

Cheers

The dog is your stock and you have the right to dispose of it by selling or giving it away if you no longer want to keep it. Unfortunately the site will take your donation but mods will do nothing to uphold your right to advertise unmolested.

Surely this bitch should go somewhere like Lurcherlink. Granted, she may not get a working home, but she will be assessed by people who understand dogs, and, more importantly, lurchers. And she will get to socialise properly, under supervision. Kennelling three dogs together is never a good idea, and it is perfectly possible that this bitch, who is becoming an adult, and possibly on her way to having a season (her first?) is throwing her weight around with the other dogs.

One of the main dangers in taking on adult, or sub-adult, dogs, is that the way the animal behaves in one home may not be how it behaves in another. The first three weeks after taking a new dog home, it is walking on eggshells, learning the lie of the land, and the rules, or lack of. Once the dog has understood its surroundings and fellow canines it begins to find its place in the 'pack', or family. Unfortunately, there is a tendency to molly-coddle such dogs, giving them a false sense of their own standing ... or you could be completely correct in thinking that this bitch is just destined not to be the quiet, sit in the corner type. Your are right in not just letting her go to anyone, but, given your own inexperience, would you be qualified to assess the skills of a potential buyer? That is why I suggest Lurcherlink.

No offence intended at all, but sometimes it is best to hand a dog over to those who are truly qualified to judge and rehome.

They are not kennelled at all, hence the difficulty with her throwing her weight around being a problem. They live in the house as a pack and as such I expect them to behave accordingly. She most certainly isn't Molly-coddled in anyway as none of my dogs are. She's had her second season and my older terrier bitch had a season at the same time. The bitches have taken a disliking to each other as yes the Wheaton X wants to be boss and the terrier lets her get away with it. I am perfectly capable of handling the situation when I am around but unfortunately I cannot be around all of the time as no one can. The bitch is fine in a social manner it is purely jealousy over items and attention with the other dogs.

With working full time, having a 10 year old son and also having to run a household is it fair to keep a bitch locked up in a crate the majority of the time incase I am out of the room and there is a toy on the floor that another dog would like to play with? She would not act like that towards me or act like that if I am involved with the play because she knows she can't do that. How do I teach the other dogs to put her in her place and stop it before it gets out of hand when I am not around. And yes the dogs are not left together when I am out of the house for long periods but are all out together when we are home. I cannot and will not have a dog that can't be trusted when my back is turned as like I previously said I cannot be in all the places I need to be at once and it is not fair on any of us or the dog to have to be locked away when we are out of the room or they are playing in the garden.

No the dog will not go to kennels to be rehomed and as for experience, well I've done pretty alright around dogs for nearly 20 years and she's safe happy and worked where she is. If a suitable home does not come up then she will just have to continue being kept separate when I haven't got eyes on her. I just thought If there was a good home where the bitch can be herself, where she will be kept busy and worked to her ability then she may be slightly better off there. That does not mean that the home she is in now is not good enough and that the bitch is worse off for it.

I think the problem has been that she has been kennelled all her life previously (on her own I may add) and now she is in a family home with 2 other dogs she feels she does not need to share with. It also doesn't help that these two dogs have been raised by us from youngsters so have had the correct socialisation and manners taught from day one. This is probably a bad thing as they will not stand up to the bitch and have been taught that it's better to back down from a situation. How long will that last though?

I would never lie about the dog or the situation as she will only end up worse then she is now. I do know this bitch would not suit a pet only home, she lives to work and her drive is as you would expect with a bull X Wheaton. If she is not mentally and physically simulated she becomes a nightmare and will look for her own work!! Unless said person who was keeping her as a pet was very understanding of when she took to a scent and also knew how to stimulate her prey drive without working her I know for fact she will be in a lot worse a place. I've also been around bull xs enough to know when one has a pretty decent chance of making a useful animal to someone and I also know when that better home could possibly not be with me and our situation. I genuinely believe that this bitch has a real chance of this never getting worse behaviour if she is able to be kennelled or kept separate until work or walk. If I didn't she wouldn't be getting rehomed. Because I'm female does not make me soft and does not stop me doing what is necessary in certain situations.

If admitting and knowing that this bitch could reach a higher potential and be less of a risk of becoming a bloody nightmare with some one else makes me a bad person or inexperienced then so be it! I will continue to do right by the bitch and if I keep her she will be worked, kept busy, and kept away from my other dogs when needs be. I just do not want this situation to escalate and become fights, I ain't got the time to be stressed about my dogs and how they are going to react or when the next kick off is going to happen (and no this is not what's happening now I just don't want it to turn into that) if anyone wants a nice little bitch to do what she was bred for and are willing to give her a shot then I think she would do just fine.
