We've got 1/2" or possibly 3/4" blue plastic water main coming into our house from the yard.

Now it's eventually stopped raining I've noticed a damp patch in the gravel. It might well be the rainwater from the gravel evaporating, or it might be the water main weeping.

Rather than dig it up to have a look, I'm going to turn the water off at the borehole for a few hours and see if this dries up.

If it doesn't, is there something you can repair water main with or would I need to cut a section out and replace it with a length of pipe and 2 couplings?

Cheers.
