EDDIE B 3,112
Stoat trapping is probably the only real area where there will be significant changes in the UK. http://www.gwct.org.uk/advisory/faqs/aihts/ More questions than answers, so nothing new there. Quote Link to post
unclepesta 100
this sounds like a end to fenn traps especially mk 6 from the link above It is not yet completely clear that approvals to use Fenn traps to catch stoats will be withdrawn, nor is it clear whether Fenn traps will still be allowed for weasel, rat, grey squirrel, mice and mink (the Mk 6 version). Defra has told us that traps judged unlikely to pass on the basis of published evidence will not be tested. Traps already approved for stoat in other countries party to the AIHTS (e.g. Canada) will not automatically be approved for the same purpose in the UK, because stoats in Europe are significantly larger than in Canada. Approval to AIHTS standard by another European country would meet requirements. Quote Link to post
Dan Newcombe 58
Any further thoughts on this. Last i heard was that the decision had been put back over here until July 2018 so we have a bit of a reprieve while they look into the alternatives. Dan Quote Link to post

Internal propaganda by GWCT - the sole distributors of the DOC trap, and the same gang that mysteriously managed to get the inhumane Koro trap 'passed' ahead of the £17,000 testing fee now in place - they are simply trying to scare folks away from their competition It is a travesty IMO Quote Link to post
