Trying To Catch Lobster

My kids have been keen to set there own creel and catch a lobster. So this week we made up a creel , rope and buoy and have baited it in a likely spot. So far it's only been full of crab but they are loving it , and after two days have got the Lab swimming out and retrieving the rope so they can haul it in.

get yourself an inflatable dinghy get out about 200 /300 yards and you will catch them, lobster fished for many years when i lived in the isle of man found best bait to be salmon heads use to get then from the fish factory

Make sure you set your creel on 'hard' ground - rocks, avoid sand or mud covered places.

Only done it once when I repaired a couple of washed up pots. I caught loads of crap and a couple lobster with fish baits the first couple days then a local suggested road kill, so I used a rabbit and it worked very well.

Yeah, I know a man that does it, they call it cleeking where I live. The lads here use a bit of broom handle with a piece of heavy wire on it.

I don't, far from it! I don't know if thats actually how cleeking is spelt but thats how its pronounced round here anyway. I'll see if I can get a photo of the tool he uses.
