Just thought I would share this with you ferret folks.

 

It's a very simple idea but the ferrets love it. Jok knocked it up out of a cut down section of pipe and a bit of plywood.

 

They play in it and then fall asleep inside it during the day...

My hutch is on its last legs now so I'm just drawing up a few plans now for something bigger and better.

I've had a couple of hanging baskets in my run for a while now but the lining is always wet and rots quickly, that seems a remedy to the idea.

Many years ago we used to make our carrying box in a similar way with 9 inch plastic pipe with ply wood fixed on each end. One piece of ply was hinged to give access,lasted for years!

First thing I thought when I saw it mate. Would make a handy little carrier for just nipping out with one ferret.

Sometimes its the simple ideas that work well! In my case it was more down to money,young family etc. Now days, being an old fart it's easier to buy what you need!

also come in handy for a rat bait station...we use same sort of set up for placing poison on rat runs...works a treat...obviously without the hanging part... lol
