New Addition To The Team...

After a long time thinking about it I finally got myself a little busher to work alongside the lurchers.

I didn't have a particular cross in mind. Fancied terrier X spaniel or something along those lines.

Never even considered a Plummer terrier but one came up for sale through a mate of a mate. 2 year old bitch, hardly done a thing. Bit of ratting. Very green and got lots to learn but very keen and more importantly to me very sensible and level headed. Silent in the kennel. Good in the motor. Good around lurchers.

She is settling in well and has just showed me enough promise this morning to keep me happy.

Nice one socks and dodger.   Yeh Flacko she will hopefully keep them busy.   Thanks dayandnightwalker, she's keener today than yesterday and more willing to enter thick cover. So it won't be many

Well she's been with me for 6 weeks now. She was a little bit fat and didn't have any muscle when I got her. Her back legs were like twigs. She struggled on big walks.   She's a fair bit fitter now,

Cheers boys.

Mighty Celt she's a work in progress at the minute but she will be smashing cover for fun in a couple of months im sure. She's keen and just needs to see plenty now.

I'm out every day mooching over quarry's, around hedgerows, ditches etc, all which hold R/H/F so won't take her long to pick it up I don't think. Gonna get her some ratting aswell to keep her ticking over.

lovely little thing mate! really fancied one myself but I have opted for a beagle mate. makes sense to have one if your like me and do a lot of mooching in the day! keep us posted mate

Good luck with the beagle fella. I didn't fancy anything with too much hound blood as the land we hunt isn't massive and working closer in would be more beneficial than off on a trail.

But it's horses for courses mate and I know you work some vast land.

Atb.

might it not go to ground.?

It might do.

i thought you didn't want that.thats why you wanted a spaniel x or something.

I could get a spaniel X terrier pup and wait 12 months to find out it drops to ground though?

If it starts dropping to ground it will be worked with locator on.

It's bred from ratters and bushers which don't drop to ground and at the minute she shows no interest in working below. So only time will tell.
