no1ale 0
I have just got my first running dog whippet/collie x terrier. When out getting dog used to lamp it's eyes seem almost blue where as all my other dogs seem normal orange colour? Is this just because a pup?? Or normal with running dogs? Quote Link to post

Fieldsporthunter 1,864
Yeh off lead. Is this not a good idea then? I am new to this Go on YouTube and look for a clip called "purdys progress" its not gospel and some of the stuff he does you will not need, but it will give you the general idea of a pups first year. harvey88 40
I always try keep a pup on lead at lamping until it knows its job to be straight back by your side and ready to go again each run when its older. 1 Quote Link to post

TOM HEAVY 140
prob not the best idea... as a general rule of thumb focus on socialisation/livestock and basic commands such as recall/down/wait etc. Tug games with an dummy/toy/cured skin is time well spent, couple of mins 2/3 times a day, don't over do it, or he will lose interest. Let your dog enjoy its puppyhood. No harm in taking it out with a torch but keep it on the lead and don't slip it or even show it anything. Even if you get all of this right IMO your dog wont be ready to run anything till early next season, I could be wrong either way. Building confidence by using progressive sages are the key to bringing on a pup. ATB TOM HEAVY 3 Quote Link to post

ATB TOM HEAVY Top advice, you won't go far wrong if you follow this and "Let your dog enjoy its puppyhood." is the most important bit As for the eye shine colour I don't know what causes the difference but if I flick a torch round my yard at all the dogs some shine orange and some bluey-green 2 Quote Link to post
