New British Record

Why's it called the parrot?

probably been hooked that many times its disfigured its mouth

It hasn't been caught that many times compared to many carp in other waters. I think the disfigurement is down to a genetic problem; that's how it was born.

People have known about this fish and its growth rate for years. Given its age there is more growing room left so it is likely to feature in consecutive records over the next few years. When walker caught his then record 44lb carp he removed it from the water and had it taken to London Zoo thus preventing any one else catching it when it weighed a bit more.

p.s. Its called The Parrot because it gives people a Trill whenever they catch it. The angler was after perch using birdseed boilies and a cage feeder.

Sorry :D

Oh. Not because it talks then.

I always feel sorry for these tame fish that get caught over and over. They must wonder if the next scrap of food they eat will mean being hooked in the face and manhandled out of the water.

Somebody else is fishing? :D

Cheers, D.

I fished Makins a while ago and caught a Carp.

:hmm: Sure you did.
