Lads the comments on here make me wonder about some hunting people. It's his land and if was know that he was likely to shoot dogs like you say then no matter what way ye intended to go then the right

Sorry Foxbolter, but I disagree with your posts. The farmer in question doesn't represent most farmers but if you go about doing those things you say you could turn a whole community against hunting.

Since this happened another local farmer has taken some leased land back off him and another who let him use his machinery in the summer because of his own breaking down has just billed him for it's u

Jesus man and they wonder why hunting is in disbute, burning out tractors, letting a wild dog loose , that would do the hunt and hunting a great deal of good , u have too rise above this crap , there's usually a lot more too it than people know , hunting and politics leave a long trail over the years , with different farmers and landowners , these farmers need seeing before hunting near too there land , anti hunt or not ,and a plan put in place , it's hard too keep on top of hounds flying but there should of been someone monitoring that land , easy too say now but if it's happened before it needs too be addressed, firstly prevention , secondly action , and by action I mean a visit by the master, and if totally in approachable , another plan put in place , personally if I seen any gun pointed at a hound in proximity I would be on it like a flash , as phisyical as it gets , but it would only be restrained, hounds won't worry sheep but they spook and it can lead too aborting , let's not pretend, but a visited farm prior too hunting must be fully aware that the hunt would be liable for aborting lambs , in a fair situation where hounds have spooked them through wire etc , its mainly about good communication and good services too farmers and respect there demands and decisions that creates a good bond , shooting hounds is the worst ever , extreme circumstances need extreme measures , and the political route is the only way .

Who mentioned lambs aborted the farmer had beef with hunt and shot two innocent hounds I think a ewe would have to be in bad stress to abort lambs farmers who know nothing about hunting normally just panic about hounds you see them then putting three sheep dogs out to gather them heavy in lamb sheepdog hanging on their tails till their on yard funny that. Many hunts for years in Wales are called to foxes taking lambs and start in the lambing fields to find the drag of the culprit. Some people on the hunting life can't be real siding with a farmer shooting our four legged loyal friends I might have been wrong in earlier posts regarding the farmers livestock but ill stick to what I said about is property and giving him a good belting the man is scum and needs sorting

Easy to say that from a hunters point of view but look at it from a farmers point of view.Im hunting all my life, well since ive been able to get out into the land on my own.I read on here about all this respect the quarry and respect the farmer and his livestock and land. They had an issue with this farmer before so why didnt someone who was involved with the hounds go and make sure hounds would not get into the farmers sheep fields and not create a problem.I know of a few farmers in my area that wont allow hounds on there lands and the hunt folk make sure the hounds are kept well clear of these places.I am also not a farmer and have no land or livestock but if im out with the dogs and where im going there is a flock of sheep in my paththen i will go out of my way to avoid them, fidgeity b*****ds all they have to do is see a dog and there off and running. As for the farmers dog rounding up sheep, there looking at the dog every day of the week, big difference.

It wasn't their intention to go on his land. When hounds pick up a fox it goes where it want's to go. The ground we hunt makes it virtually impossible to cordon off an area with hunt members. No sheep were killed but two hounds shot dead. Police were called by the hunt
