It's a Genet from Africa originally but they now have them in the South of France and Italy. Many different types of them king, common and others that I do not know the names of.

 

Edited to add: I read an article about exotic pets and they were one of them along with the raccoon dogs that people have in this country.

I'm well aware that the genet is not a member of the felidae family. It belongs to the family of viverridae/euptilevridae. The genet, the civet, fossas,and Bearcats all resemble cats, they share many similarities

In behaviour and anatomy with the cat family.
