Rez 4,957
Random this but anyone noticed the positioning of the scope and mounts on a springer makes the rifle sound so different? I was moving some scopes around just now and both rifles sound so different when the scopes either far forward or right back, put it back to normal again and its back to the usual report. The 97 at normal is like 'thock'ting'... right forward it like 'wun'ting' and right back its thunk'ting' only every so slight 'ting' though. Im kinda assuming its changing the wight distribution No, Im not drinking again. 3 Quote Link to post

treecreeper 1,136
Is it not because you moved your head? Quote Link to post
jamesS410 106
It's probably a similar effect to blowing over the top of a scotch bottle, it sounds different full to empty. If the noise is closer to empty then I think you have your answer 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,957
Is it not because you moved your head? Interesting, how do you mean? Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
If you move the scope your ear will be in a different position in relation to the action. 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,957
If you move the scope your ear will be in a different position in relation to the action. Fair point. This is actually true, sounds alot different when I shoot off the hip [safely of course] I thought it would, but that minute difference up in the shoulder is quite a bit. Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
So does it still sound diff if you move the scope and shoot from the hip? Quote Link to post
