Random this but anyone noticed the positioning of the scope and mounts on a springer makes the rifle sound so different? I was moving some scopes around just now and both rifles sound so different when the scopes either far forward or right back, put it back to normal again and its back to the usual report.

 

The 97 at normal is like 'thock'ting'... right forward it like 'wun'ting' and right back its thunk'ting' :D only every so slight 'ting' though.

 

Im kinda assuming its changing the wight distribution

If you move the scope your ear will be in a different position in relation to the action.

Fair point. This is actually true, sounds alot different when I shoot off the hip [safely of course] I thought it would, but that minute difference up in the shoulder is quite a bit.
