Gaoler 83
Hello All, I am in the market for a new rifle. I currently own a HW100 and FN 19 both in .22, both cracking rifles. I want to go over to .177 for something different, I have never owned or shot a .177, I was looking at the Daystate Hunstman Classic, does anyone have one or shot one? Is it a good rifle? Thanks John... Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,549
Hi Gaoler, I can`t speak for Daystate to shoot as i have never owned one nor want to, a lot of my mates at the ranges hate the constant breakdowns and hiccups. When you send them in for repair a gun takes an eternity to be returned. HW 100, i own two in either calibre, - the .22 ks is hardly used and the .177 kt i find to be lethal on small game/ vermin and constantly used. To just nip in on springers, my AA T Rex HC .177 is right up there with my HW 100 kt and taking as big a bag decoying pigeon but if taken out on corvids the 100 is streets ahead (no cocking or cocking noises/ movements) Some of the lads will be along soon with their thoughts too Good luck with your choices Quote Link to post
Rez 4,957
A huntsmen classic. Nice. Don't hear much about these nowadays with the regal etc. Do it. Why not Maybe try something a bit different, or indeed look into it. FX pup for example Quote Link to post
villaman 9,979
Huntsman , lovely looking gun shoots better than the regal ,but still would not have one, Daystate need to get rid of the crap harper valve and put a dissent reg in them For me it would be another HW100k , still one of the best PCP on the market today along with the BSA ultra 2 Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
I shot with Falcongits Ultra when he had one, nice light little rifle, a handy tool for walk round lamping, because it's light, but I couldn't shoot with it as well as I shot with the HW100. But then the Ultra was half the price. Quote Link to post

jonnie bravo 572
Springer... any AA or Walther LGV Don't have much experience with PCP's but the lads at the range all love aa's theobens and weihrauch. Couple disappointed with daystate and bsa. Quote Link to post
bugg 84
My wife has an ultra se and loves it, Quote Link to post
Dewclaw69 484
I've had a .177 ultra SE for about 6 months now in the single shot. stunningly accurate and i've taken rabbits out to 60 yards or so. can't see the reason to consider anything else considering the price of the ultra. try one , you won't pick your other rifles up again.
