Fish!! Stocking A Pond

Recommended Posts

I've got an old mill pond to stock with fish. Decent size pond and Clean.

The owner has no intention of fishing but wants to bring a bit of life back to it now we have sorted the mink problem out which wiped out his last stock of fish and ducks!

What verities would you stock it with? Size or standard of fish? And where from in west / North Yorkshire.

Cheers.

Oh wow what a top opertunity I'd go with tench, roach and bream route. Plenty of carp ponds about and when you are targeting tench carp are allways taking the bait. A top tench water without carp is rare!

It won't be fished. It's more for diversity.

Owner thinks wanging a few goldfish in will do the job.

Are these fish all available for sale and where from locally.

The feckers got money but don't want to part with it.

Size will be an easy 50m plus by 25m. 3m at its deepest.
