Hello all, I have noticed there are quite a few Weihrauch springer gurus on here, so would like your opinions please. I have a .22 HW80 in a CS500 stock, it has a v-mach kit fitted and is sweet as a nut, however I was after a silencer for it and stumbled across a guy on another forum who makes the MWSS silencer so ordered and fitted it, wow, really did a good job, the only problem was it made it bloody ugly. This never bothered me, but after seeing pictures of HW80s in custom stocks with Slimtech silencers it made my 80 look like a bit of a dog, so, I have just got off the phone with V-Mach after ordering a slimtech to make things right.

My question is this, how good are the newer slimtechs? Or are they a carbon copy of the old ones? If so, how good were those? I have ordered the 5 inch, which I believe was the one fitted to the old Venomac and lazaglide HW80s (which is what I want my 80 to look like).

Thanks in advance.

Andy

Ahhh an slimtech mod. Bit old school them [Not tried the newer ones, but Im guessing its the same tech in a newer outfit, the late John Darling used one of his 80 to great effect, but Im sure he was a demi god anyway for his knowledge of shooting and the game]]. I like them the looks and they fit well with a HW, especially your 80 in a 500 stock :)

To be honest, there isn't much thats much better than the standard HW mod. I know its a bit samey as all the others, but its damn effective. I remember an old post from AIrgun BBS when I used to frequent that forum. Heres the link.

I personally dont like lug screw mods, especially on break barrels with the hammering the muzzle end gets with cocking and such, not that I know if the new one is a 1/2 UNF.

My 80K is older so didn't come with the weihrauch mod, or I would have kept that. I did look at fitting one, but the push on version has the hideous connector for the foresight, and I cannot be bothered with getting the barrel threaded, I'll do a write up when I get the slimtech, just have the month long wait first.
