got one right here killed a lot of hares with him he's 10 yrs old now, pure bred kc registered and working line bred with a long pedigree of coursing/import stock saluki bred from imports and coursing

I was looking at some Salukis on youtube in the middle east racing. They were very impressive but what struck me (knowing nothing about them) was they all looked very short haired and non of the feathering you usually see. Is that because they shave them because of heat or are they a different strain? I think some were pure and some had Greyhound in.

some arabs inport greys from ireland for breeding

Ive noticed on most of the arab videos on you tube they paint there feet like in the pic above. Does anyone no why they do this? Is it something to do with the hot sand or is it just a tradition ive seen a few also with cropped ears.

Cheers ive wondered about that for a while.

the cropped ear thing im not sure they do it in the gulf but its definatly done by the kurds in syria s/tukey iran and iraq a sighn of recognition and or stop the ears getting ripped by fox and bushes

desert bred could do with importing 1 of them greyhounds to Salford
