The universe is evolving mate, only the other day i watched a programme showing the forming of a new galaxy, new stars aren't a mystery..........I am still on the same subject, im saying life could have started somewhere else and came here, its a well known theory believed by some scientists, not the tin foil hat brigade at all.

Go to any steelworks (if you can find one still running lol) and throw any organic material into a crucible full of molten iron, nothing can survive, that tells me when the Earth was a molten ball of iron it was sterile, organic matter must have come from somewhere else after the Earth cooled, it got bombarded a lot during the early universe, more than proven, its likely that's where the organic matter for life came from.

JOSEPH, WHEN HE MARRIED MARY, BECAME THE SON OF HELI ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF MOSES AND COULD LEGALLY BE INCLUDED IN THE GENEALOGY.

You know nothing of bible sandy your making yourself look, petty an stupid

With regards to the alleged two fathers of Joseph, the explanation of the differences between Matthew 1 and Luke 3 is quite simple. Luke traced Christs lineage through Mary, while Matthew traced it through Joseph.

Try again sandy lol

Don't think so shepp, it is pure propaganda simple, from the usual suspects, he's tore to bits any evolutionist, you know it I know it, you say there's not much he knows about the subject, that's why they won't debate him haha bollox its cause he shows them up every time, either your ignorant or your brainwashed....

He has done no such thing. The guy is complete crackpot. There are mountains of empirical data that refute Kent Hovind. Do your research, sir! ;)

Tax evasion lol Chris I say to you what I said to shepp, your brainwashed, yous two are some of the main men talking how are gov this, our gov that, Kent got put in jail for 48 counts of STRUCTURING, THAT NOT TAX EVASION, FOR TWO OADS TO THINK THERE SMART YOUR NOT VERY,: he took his own money out of bank 48 times under ten thousand limit,' lol lads your flowing with the atheistic fanatics here, brainwashed, oh an his mail fraud, another joke, he filed a appeal from jail, by post, perfectly legal, but there doing him for it, big campaign over there now, he be out soon, did you know before they took him away from his family, there were at least 500 anti hovind sites started by atheist crackpots, who wouldn't debate face to face but behind computer, they were that jealous an mad becausevkent tore them apart, an there theory, the government didn't like it, but you stickbto the brainwash atheist mob, suits you..

Hate to break this to you but part of his conviction is that he didn't pay $845,000USD in taxes! It was so tax evasion that if you look in the dictionary for tax evasion it shows his picture along with Al Capone! :D

I'll concede that it doesn't have any sway on the evolution debate, and was going to let his jail stint slide... but you brought up the guys honesty!

He couldn't be any further from honest!

He's a charlatan, plain and simple. ;)

An Chris your example are micro evolution, variation that's that Darwinism, macro, mate you examples are dirt an were ripped apart by me on first God thread,,,,there that crap I won't even reply to them,,, therevsilly an far from Darwinian evolution...your wasting my time with them examples

The beautiful thing about the internet message board format is that it's a wonderful waste of time! I've been so engrossed in this debate that I've actually broke my own rule about smashing my head against the wall on a work night! I logged in from my Nevada hotel room just to see how it was getting on!

We have around 20% of neanderthal DNA flowing around us. It doesn't get any more macro than that, mate. Your inability to understand the subject matter isn't my concern any more. If you wish to argue the semantics of the language I'll leave it to someone with more internet skills than I do! ;)

Macro and micro evolution are the same processes operating on different scales. You are deliberately misusing the terms in an attempt to obfuscate the meaning. You are denying that macro evolution takes place (yet this is not disputed in the scientific community) and are passing it off as a version of micro evolution...

Evolutionary theory is THE dominant paradigm for explaining the biodiversity on this planet. Macroevolution is overwhelmingly supported with empirical data. The mountains of data, from common descent, have been so damn consistently predictable that evolution is considered fact amongst biologists.

If you can actually disprove evolution then there is a Nobel prize and HUGE grant waiting for you. ;)

But we still have the Mastadon in the room.

Even if you could disprove evolutionary theory, It doesn't prove the existance of god.

It certainly doesn't validate the contents of the bible.

Seeing as we're kind of around to the original topic did you have chance to research the points I queried in this post?

Anyway! I've got a lot of driving to do between Las Vegas and Los Angeles the rest of this week. I'll try and check in at the weekend if the thread is still up! Peace to you, and yours! ;)

You're not well mate lol

He's not well because he doesn't agree with you? He is sourcing lots of information to consolidate his view and you don't come back with anything other than ridicule and you think you are nullifying the point in doing so. When I pushed you in the past to come up with some answers of your own, you just threw up another mythical video about a whale. Have you learned anything new since?

I was referring to his conspiracy rant concerning Kent Hovind, after sending a link to disprove that in QB's words, he is an 'honest man'.

Pointless QB referencing opinions from charlatans, then trying to pass them off as credible.

As for proving anything, many have tried in better ways than I can be bothered to on this thread, so why bother banging my head against a brick wall.

You have offered nothing to prove creationism.

Creationism isnt really even a theory its just an idea at this point, and of all the different creationist myths and legends xtianity is among the least plausible.

ive put up a few links to parts stolen from older religions and shown the obvious motive for kings etc wanting their subjects xtian.

i think xtians block out evidence that goes against the bible, they're scared of death and hypnotise themselves into on some level actually believing it to get some sense of peace, people pointing out its obvious invalidity are threatening that sense of peace.

Some people are fearful of the randomness of life, they gain comfort and security from believing that something is watching over us and keeping some kind of order.

QB has spent the last 6 years sifting through information to try and back his beliefs, he will believe any half baked charlatan as long as that person says what he wants to hear.

Lol shepp again as FM said no evidence for your theory just slating, you can't even put an argument together, Chris at least is putting up his evidence for his theory, you on the other hand are just a fundamental atheist, who likes nothing better than to point the finger with nothing to back it up with...

There's no point even replying to you as your just a hatemonger, trying to convince yourself mate, hoping in vain that your right....

Not Income Tax Evasion - Structuring - That's How They Got Kent Hovind

Kent Hovind was recently named to the Creation Science Hall of Fame. They may have to wait for any sort of induction ceremony as he is presently a federal inmate in Berlin, NH with a projected release date of August 11, 2015. Nick Lally believes that Mr. Hovind is in jail out of principle and not deceit. Well get to that, but first I should explain that the Creation Science Hall of Fame does not yet have an actual hall, although they have projected one to be built. The Hall will be strategically located between the Answers In Genesis Creation Museum and the upcoming Ark Encounter. Im thinking Ill wait for all three to be completed before I visit Petersburg KY as the only other attraction I noted there involves horseback riding. Here is what qualified Mr. Hovind to be admitted to the Creation Science Hall of Fame:

Kent E. Hovind (born January 15, 1953), an American young earth creationist, is considered by many to be one of the foremost authorities on science and the Bible. The amazing ability of Kent Hovind to communicate complicated scientific concepts in an easy-to-understand format makes this essential information accessible for youth and laypersons, as well as science professors. The goal of his creation seminars is to convince listeners to reject theories of evolution, geophysics, and cosmology in favor of the Genesis creation narrative from the Bible. As of 2012, this Creation Seminar has parts translated via subtitling in 37 languages.

What Is Young Earth Creationism ?

One of the most important fundamental beliefs of contemporary evangelical Christianity is scriptural inerrancy. If you combine scriptural inerrancy with a certain style of literalism, you end up with the Earth being roughly 6,000 years old. That is not nearly enough time for evolution to work. Geologists also have a problem with a young earth. (I asked my friend, Claire Pless, a graduate student at the Colorado School of Mines about that. She told me about something called zircons.)I could try to explain how scriptural inerrancy could be reconciled with an old earth, but dammit Jim, Im a tax blogger, not a theologian, so I turned to my blogging buddy, Reverend William Thornton:

There are many conservative Christians who both consider the Bible to be inspired and inerrant and who do not accept evolution but who do accept that the earth is very old. I acknowledge that the many lines of physical evidence indicate a very old earth.

If ones interpretive approach to Scripture is such that a very young earth is demanded, then it is necessary to discount each and every

instance where modern scientific evidence differs from this; hence, the, uh, modern creation (mid-twentieth century) of young earth

specialists who generate sufficient publications discounting any and all old earth claims to satisfy the demands of likeminded biblical

interpreters, many churches, and Christian schools.

Why Is Kent Hovind In Federal Prison ?

You will see reports that Kent Hovind is in prison for tax evasion. This is understandable. According to this recent Tax Court decision concerning Mrs. Hovind, neither he nor she were filing 1040s. That is not what he is in prison for. In 2006, a jury found Kent Hovind guilty on all counts of a fifty-eight count indictment. Twelve counts concerned failure to file quarterly payroll tax returns for Creation Science Evangelism (Mr. Hovinds ministry which operated the Dinosaur Adventure Land theme park). Forty-five counts were for structuring. He or his wife made cash withdrawals from the bank in the amounts of $9,500 or $9,600 on forty-five separate occasions between the summer of 2001 and the summer of 2002. The 58th count said he had corruptly endeavored to obstruct and impede the due administration of the internal revenue laws . That particular offense reminds me of a crime that the city cops I hung around with in the seventies used to talk about. They called it B and A, which stood for being an _______. In Hovinds case it included filing complaints, making threats and paying his employees in cash and calling them missionaries.

The Creation Hall of Fame has replaced its statement that Mr. Hovind was testing the constitutionality of the tax laws and was unable to find a righteous judge with a lengthy statement by Hovind that explains that he was not doing that. Here are some excerpts:

I have NEVER been a tax protester. America was founded by those type guys and we NEED them today, but I am NOT one.

The government, however, broke over 20 laws to put me in prison. This has been the history of man. See the story of Joseph, Job, Jesus, 6 million Jews in Hitlers camps etc.

I DO NOT say the tax laws are unconstitutional nor did I break one to prove a point or test the law.

Hovind appealed his conviction and sentence to the Eleventh Circuit, which upheld both, but he has not given up.

He has a letter from an anonymous sympathetic banker on his site that gives this analysis of the structuring charge:

By this twisted logic, if you deposit or withdrew $500 from your own bank account every week for 21 weeks, you could be arrested and charged with 21 counts of structuring because the amount went over $10,000. You could be fined $5,250,000 and sentenced to 105 years in prison (even though you never had the $10,000 in your account at any one time and the money was not earned or spent illegally)!

The Fight Continues ?

Retired IRS Appeals Officer Robert Baty had a brief e-mail exchange with Mr. Hovind in which he indicated that he is still fighting:

The 45 counts I was charged with are flawed for a number of reasons spelled out in document 335, 349 and 351 in my case.

If the charge in the indictment is wrong the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case.

It is NEVER too late to challenge jurisdiction. This is NOT over yet. :)

Apparently having been tried and convicted and his appeal turned down, he still thinks that he can get the indictment overturned. He just does not see how it can be a crime to take money out of the bank to pay the expenses of his ministry.

Is What The Government Doing A Good Idea ?

Despite his claim to the Creations Science Hall of Fame that he is not a tax protester, Mr. Hovind at different points in time has made the type of statements associated with protesters and based on the outcome of civil litigation had not been filing returns. He was pretty well trounced in Tax Court and it is possible that going after him criminally was superfluous, but I have never been able to discern why it is that some cases rather than others go criminal. Assuming that it made sense to go after him criminally, I imagine the reason for the structuring charges is that they are much easier to prove and having so many of them makes quite an impression on the jury, but Im not sure it is sending the right message. The structuring conviction can be painted, as it is in this article, to make Kent Hovind look like a victim.

There has always been this delicious irony about gangster Al Capone finally being convicted of income tax evasion rather than the multitude of other crimes that escaped punishment. Somehow convicting Dr. Dino (as Kent Hovind is known) for taking his own money out of the bank rather than for income tax evasion just does not seem as satisfying.

This is the government judge who put hovind in jail shortly after hung himself, because he was caught in a paeodifile ring....

John David Roy Atchison

Booking photo of John David R. Atchison taken by the Macomb County Sheriff's department

John David Roy Atchison (August, 1954 October 5, 2007) was an assistant U.S. Attorney in Florida's northern district who gained notoriety when he was arrested for suspicion of soliciting sex from a 5-year old girl.

Atchison was born in 1954 and held both a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Cumberland Law School at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in June 1984[1] and the Georgia Bar in June 1985.[2] Since the late 1980s, he worked in the U.S. Attorney's office in Pensacola, Florida,[citation needed] working on tax and financial crime cases.[3] He was married to and had three children with Barbara Atchison and lived in Gulf Breeze, near Pensacola.[4]

On September 16, 2007, Atchison was arrested at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport in a sex crime sting operation undertaken by the Macomb County Sheriff's department.[5] He was charged with "enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity using the Internet", "aggravated sexual abuse" and "traveling across state lines to have sex with someone under the age of 12".[5] At the time of his arrest, he was carrying presents for his intended victim, including a doll and a pair of earrings. Also in his possession was a jar of petroleum jelly. Following his arrest, he tried to kill himself via hanging with a sheet in his jail cell on September 20, 2007. Atchison had been removed from a suicide watch the previous day after assuring his lawyer and a judge that he would not harm himself. He was not injured in the suicide attempt, which another inmate reported about 4 a.m.[6]

On October 5, 2007, Atchison committed suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell.[3][7]
