morton 5,367 Posted February 15, 2015 Report Share Posted February 15, 2015 In general the Whippet/Grey takes some beating for initial short bursts of speed,the fastest mutt ive owned that had early acceleration and endurance with real speed was a Lurcher to lurcher bred mutt,Collie/Grey-Saluki/Grey cross A Deerhoundy hybrid,this dog threw heavily to its Greyhound lineage,retired as a pet at 3 years of age because its pace was not matched by its nous and it spent more time injured than running.The bloody thing could find the only obstacle in a 200 acre meadow to collide with. 8 Quote Link to post
