Think this thread needs reviving. Come on lads (bound to be some crafty lasses too) it has gone a bit dead on here again. Plenty of skill out there as can be seen from above posts. Show us what you are making.

I started making catties recently, I'll get some pics up when I'm done with a few. I'm just waiting on some beeswax to finish, I wasn't happy with the varnish I got and had to start again.

try tru oil give a glass like finish i did my brothers mfr stock with it and my r10

I've been using Danish oil mate which doesn't give the shine, I'll check it out

What wood are you using ? When I gave an ash catty a Finnish in Danish oil is looked the same as it did before , don't know if it's the same on different woods
