i sent away for my sgc 5 weeks ago just wondering what sort off time did you guys wait in scotland thanks

I'm in England and waited just over 3 months mate, about 3 years ago now tho

Im nottingham and it took 3 weeks and that was only last month

Rab123 it is dependant on a number of things. Like any office if someone is on holiday/sick/maternity then the workload is shared and as such slowed.

 

If loads of people apply/renew at the same time (this time of year) then it'll take longer.

 

Finally if you have any issues/niggles (not on voters address/have speeding tickets/not a British national/have dodgy family connections/anything not straight forwards then I imagine it'll take longer.

 

I waited 2 weeks for my FAC to arrive after it was approved and 2 weeks prior to approve it.

 

My SGC renewal last time (2011) took 1 week.

 

But then I did pester them politely every week

It was a long while ago but I waited 12 years; I'm still cross my mum wouldn't let me have a gun when I asked at 4

Mine took just under 3 weeks, that was almost 2 months ago now, im in the devon area

Yeh...could take anything, potluck tbh but I'd say 6 weeks is what the generally tell you to expect....funny as variations don't take 2 weeks.

Variations are quick, I've had them ok'd on the phone, then stuck the form in and then arrive a week later

Sent off for a variation last Monday afternoon at 4.00 PM, received it back complete 10.00 AM post, Wednesday. same week. GMP..

3 years crime free then 4 weeks for mine then six month to lose it again .then three years no trouble then re applied then 3 weeks to be granted it again

I was down at the licensing office (lothian & borders) yesterday. Woman there said police scotland are extremely backlogged with new applications just now, due to some computer system change over as well as being a busy time of year anyway. Months was her estimate....
