Working Deerhound

I work my Deerhound with a Tumbler Lurcher and find the two work very well together. Anyone else working Deerhounds?

Not sure. I bought her from an old boy in the Norfolk Fens. When I asked how she was bred he laughed and said...."She is tumbler to tumbler my dear." Couldnt really argue with that could I? She is quite a broad bitch with plenty of shoulder and front. she is as hard as nails and can run all day and can turn on a sixpence. My deerhound runs them and the tumbler is the clever one who turns them and kills them. (only rabbits of course

A tumbler is an old collie type x gh i think don't hold me to that though i will have a look in a book i have later.who is ya dh from can we have pics plz

Many years ago at a show ,,,breeze and lamper off here ,,,hood winked me in to having a chat with that Burrell fella who breeds them tumblers,,,,I can still picture there faces from across the show giggling like school girls...

I thought Tumbler was a term given to dogs that role after striking a rabbit. I do see them advertised in the back of CMW though. Always wondered how they looked, got any pics :-)

They look just the same as any other mongrel lurcher,,,,,in as much as they can all be that little bit different depending on what the last cross was,,,,after all apart from the obvious sight hounds in the mix,,there's everything from collie to husky in there
