youcanthide...BANG 1,051
Bit of a strange one, but ive recently been diagnosed with crohns disease and I'm just wondering if anybody else on here has it seen as though its becoming a common disease amongst the population now. Not expecting much of a response but with me being only recently diagnosed it would be a help to find out abit more about other people that's affected by it, thanks

youcanthide...BANG 1,051
Cheers lads, I've not really found anything that sets it off. I was just in pain constantly. When I've had all the tests done after being f****d about by the GP it turned out a foot of my small bowel and a few inches of my large bowel were so badly damaged that emergency surgery was the only option. I'm a 100 times better since and haven't flared up once so far. Have my review in December to see if the disease has progressed since the op. It's just everybody that I've heard has it seems to have no quality of life and nothing but horror stories so that scared the shit out of me. Thanks kev that would be great

YOKEL 2,120
my step dad has it, and was diagnosed yrs ago when they knew next to nothing about it. as a result, he's had a fair amount of his guts chopped out. but he eats what he likes, and loves an ale....could shit thru the eye of a needle mind, but other than that he's fine...Have a mate also who was diagnosed a few yrs back. had murders when he first found out, and they were trying him on various different meds, but one they got the balance right he's good as gold...A.T.B. with it... Yokel.

skycat 6,172
Doctors are beginning to realise that one of the main causes of Crohns is the westernised diet: high in meat, dairy products and refined carbs, and low in fruit and vegetables. Japan, which historically had a very low incidence of Crohns, is now seeing a big rise in cases due to a more westernised diet. I've had IBS for years, but manage it with diet very successfully: and a friend of mine has Crohns and manages her condition almost entirely through a high fibre, low fat diet with very little meat and dairy. BOLSTER 808
Crohns isn't the worst disease but can leave you looking like a Jewish prisoner of War if not treated, my daughter had it & she was very very bad lost about 3 stone, back & forwards to Docs/Hospital same old bull shiite all fcuking ''useless'' got worse & worse she couldn't hold any food down or pass food because of the intestine swelling up. its a Auto immune disease and having read up on Hemp oil I knew it would reverse the effect I started her on small amounts of Hemp oil ''After seeing the shape she was in i had to give it a go'' and after a few days she was up & about eating & all sorts we couldn't believe the change it made she was eventually taken to Hospital & they diagnosed her, she's still on the Crohns Meds but uses Hemp oil before bed & is back to normal, i think most of the meds getting handed out today are just smothering the problem & not fixing it just because of the fcuking ''Coin'' it makes
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
Thanks for the replies lads, ye the hospitals are a waste of time. Told me I had to wait 7 month for a specialist by which time I might have ended up with a perforated bowel. The weight loss thing was terrible. I went to just under 8st, could see every bone in my body and the doctor kept fobbing me off saying it was a stomach bug i was struggling to shake and it wouldn't be any IBD because i haven't got a family history of it. Absolutely useless. But im under a good specialist now and things are looking good. Not looking forward to my review in december to see whether the disease has spread again. I will look into the hemp oil thing thanks
BOLSTER 808
You have to make it yourself from decent ''Indica Weed''. be careful Mr Plod don't catch you with it or you'll be locked up, we have Thc/Cbd receptors in our bodies they stop working after breast feeding has stopped. they open back up when taking the Hemp oil for all types of Diseases, when they open up they send Signals to broken cells & what ever else isn't working properly & gives it a boost back to life. Works Excellent on Dogs as well iv tried it , iv got a bloke with Prostate Cancer using it & apart from Laughing eating & feeling Happy that's all the side effects that come with it

beast 1,884
my late mother in law had crohns, and she managed it very well by managing her diet. her daughter (my sister in law0 also has the complaint, had to have surgery for complications some years ago. ever since she has managed very well, and is careful with her diet as well as having to take meds but these are minimal. my understanding is that different people have different manifestations of the illness, and virtually all cases can be managed very well although there may be some trial and error to find which treatment works best for you. good luck. Neal 1,784
My mother in law has it too and, like Beast says, manages it fairly well by being careful with her diet. In her case she finds it hard to digest the skin on any vegetables and fruit.
