How Long Should You Stay Away From Newborn Ferret Kits

Was just wondering ,[BANNED TEXT] a ferret litter is born,how long should you wait before looking at them ,as i heard if you go to soon the mother may eat the kits

Depends on the Jill mine are no bother and a can get in straight away with no bother.

Better leave for at least a fortnight IMO it's not worth it to lose a litter just so you can have a poke about. If you can keep her occupied with a dead rabbit or something away from the nest box you can have a Quik look BUT look don't touch!

It really does depend on the Jill,if your in any doubt leave well alone,Ur just stress the Jill out. I have a Jill i can be with during birth and handle from hours old ,i have another Jill that will tolerate me from about a week,But i have another one that would rip my throat out all the time the kits are with her right up to weening.Soon as kits have gone she is back to her soppy self.
