Litium Ion Fuel Gauge

received a new litium ion battery and the fuel gage has 5 l.e.d.s. charged it fully and only 3 lights are green and 2 are red. Are only 3 lights supposed to light up or is this faulty ?

They're supposed to be like that. That is fully charged. The red ones never go green.

Strange why would they make it like that? i emailed the company and they told me to send it back and ill get a new one i was for sending it back tomorrow lol

When you use it the green lights will eventually go out leaving only the red. When this happens and only the red are showing it's telling you that the battery will soon be going flat. Just like a car fuel gauge . Once in the red..time to head for home and charge up.

The secretary probably answered your email. Guaranteed your new one will be exactly the same.

 

Just read the instructions on mine:

 

75-100% charge: 2 reds 3 greens

50-75%: 2 reds 2 greens

20-50%: 2 red 1 green

10-20%: 2 red 0 green

Less than 10% 1 red 0 green

Dead: No lights.
