AR177 588 Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 Hey guys, If i already own an air rifle and i want to put it on my ticket and increase its powre what would the procedure be? Do i need to give it to an rfd who will then give ot back to me so i can then send the details off to the police of where i got the rifle? Even though it will be me giving it to them then them giving it to me? Basically i can do the work to put the power myself up but i obviously want to be above board so i dont fall foul of the law and i want it to be on my ticket before i do the work... tomburras 2,721 Posted May 8, 2014 Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 I took mine to my RFD/gunsmith and he put power up and entered it onto my certificate along with my moderator. This cost £50 for this doing if I remember rightly. Not sure how you would do it yourself but i just wanted to do it like that to play it safe, hope that helps. 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,584 Posted May 9, 2014 Report Share Posted May 9, 2014 If you have the licence already and are intent on doing the work yourself, you might contact your Police Firearms officer for best advice here and declare your intentions first. He may require you to register the rifle first before you begin, as, you cannot possess an illegally unlicenced firearm even though you have a legal FAC. As always, the law can be a bit blurred on these matters but, you cannot be held accountable if you follow professional Police advice. That's what their jobs' for! 1 Quote Link to post
