Before I get shouted down, this is friendly advice not a moan. Great photos lads but don't forget to put the cover back over the nests you're photographing. I remember visiting a Bullfinches several times to see how it was doing and on my last visit the nest had been predated. Check there's nowt clocking you like a Maggie or crow. You can do feck all about Stoats or Weasels rummaging around in the undergrowth but don't help the corvids.

no mate thats good advice and goes with out saying but [going back to a nest 7 times is not good at all] once iv found a nest you can tell if its fully built then check it again in a week or so with camera so quick snap cover back up and away

I miss going round this time of the year doing the maggies crows jacks and jaws. We would. Reccy the park and know by now the trees hollows etc were they were nesting Four of us would surround the site. I was chief nocker. And would nock fook out of the tree till. The offending corvid would flee and hopefully meet its maker I still. Controll the fooker as much as i can though got a soft spot for the jay though.

This is photo of the chaffinch at at bottom of my drive. Its in the worlds worst bush, i nearly pulled the nest out and threw it when i saw it being made, i really didnt think it would last. I will post a pic of the bush.

That's the bush in front of my van believe it or not. I am now parking in front of it when possible as the bush gets reversed into regularly plus kids footballs often hit it. I think it helps.
