17 Hmr 16" Or 20" Barrel?

I am looking to buy a cz 455 varmit,but not sure which size barrel to get ? Is there a diffrence in accuracy and fps?

My mate just got rid of his 16" and he dropped foxes at 120 yards so Imo, not a lot of difference.

Ive just got a 16inch and amazing accuracy 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards and ive only put about 300 rounds through it

Nice going mate what magnification on your scope is used to achive the groups ?

Thanks im using 8x mag using a redfield accurange 4-12x40 have used it on 10x and 12x but I prefer lower mag.

My CZ 452 HMR has a 16 inch barrel. Deadly accurate at 100 yards even after 1000s of rounds. With a moderator it's still a handleable length.

Had my cz Amercian chopped from 20" to 15" its made it so much handier using from the trucks window. Like a telegraph pole at "20" with a mod on the end lol.

16 inches all the way. My longest shot was 156 yards. I had the 20" and it was just too unwieldy. Mostly I shoot at 100 yards and only miss due to my stupidity rather than the rifle.

I have a cz452 American in 20''. It's all I've known and haven't considered chopping it, but maybe it's worth a think now. How much do they charge to chop it and rethread it?

I had a 16" CZ American 17hmr about 8 years ago, mine was excellent, I bought a dedicated 17 'Whisper' over barrel Moderator to keep it as short as

possible and it was very light and handy.

I didn't particularly rate the 17hmr and after trialling it for a decent time I traded it after 18 months, but that said it did what it said on the tin, very accurate

and a true 150yd+ Rimfire.
