Muzzle Velocity.

Recommended Posts

If you have a chrono, then it's the velocity squared, times the pellet weight in grains, then divide by 450240 and that will give you the energy in ft-ibs.

Eg... 560 fps X 560 fps X 16 then divide by 450240 gives you 11.144 ft-lbs.

Thanks for the info, if I work off 580 then I should not be far off . I've been trying to work out POA at close distances ( got some rabbits in my flower beds just under the window! ). I suppose I could just stick some targets at varrying distances and try them but I'm trying to drag myself into the 21st. century ! :D

Skot - I see you have a 97K, do you think it's worth having it tuned, I only hunt with it.

If your alright with a spanner and screwdriver then get a few bits and bats.. aka some proper moly grease and some wet and dry 400 800 1200 and have a go on it yourself! like Marksman on here does on his 3 part video ..

If im 100 % honest my hw97 was nice when I got it but I followed this video and made it a lot better! I actually prefer it to my SFS tuned 98 !! :icon_eek:

this will deffo improve your gun and make it recoil less and shoot smoother. even just for hunting its worth doing
