mturner85 9
Hi guys just wondering how long you would allow your springer to be loaded when out hunting in the field. Do you only load when you see what your going to shoot or do you walk around in the field loaded and ready? Just wondering the max you would allow you springer loaded for? Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
They once tested a spring powered air rifle after leaving it cocked for a few weeks, there was no power loss! Quote Link to post
GSkye 94
I suspect due to changes in generations of springer rifles being made, the most recent of rifles should be able to hold being cocked for longer. Although, the comment above says "weeks" I'd still try to avoid it. I, personally, don't always load my rifle when out but when I do and feel it's been cocked for a while, I try my best to disperse of it correctly while not scaring off any quarry. Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I used to de cock or fire into the floor after about 30 mins !! but now I don't see the point. it doesn't harm them to be left cocked for a few hours! Quote Link to post
mturner85 9
Thats what I do Skot, I get paranoid that im ruining my spring so after half hour or so ill fire safely out. Quote Link to post
