trappa 517
Being a newbie to the world of fac guns i apologise for asking daft questions but whats the difference with an open and a closed licence?? As far as i believe an open you can shoot where you see fit, and a closed you can shoot where you see fit as long as the land has been granted approval for that gun? is this correct?( obviously you need permission) Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Your from cleveland, normally some areas the fac dept will limit you to the farm you have permission on, cleveland tend to just allow you open tickets for .22 .17hmr, if you have these for a certain period and go for a bigger calibre they normally make these open also.. Easier than some of the tales you here from further down south.. Quote Link to post
foxdropper 17,092
Open tickets are generally granted as a matter of course after the first 5 years .Closed tickets as you call them limit you to the land you first submitted on the form .This land is known as "core" land and is the only place you can legally zero your rifle .Open tickets do not give you access to just anywhere with the firearm .You are allowed to verify that a piece of land is in your opinion, fit for a particular calibre but this can and has been disputed by firearms officers ,should they be called in .The best policy is to contact your firearms dept' and ask about a given piece of land and they will attend or verify over the phone .Some dept' allow you to take your firearm off core land as long as you notify them .
