gnasher16 29,649 Posted November 24, 2013 Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Wow great thread this... .....I had absolutely no interest in music till an old yanky friend of mine sent me some cd,s a few years back now i listen to it all the time,even had a few guitar lessons but im f****n useless ......I like the old delta blues stuff from years back names like Homesick James,John Lee Hooker,Maxwell Street Jimmy Davis....great stuff. The Seeker 3,048 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 For anyone who doesnt know (many may already) but Leadbelly was a talent less individual who left home as a rubbish muscian and alledgedly sold his soul to the devil at the Crossroads (hence clapton, hendrix reference to Crossroads etc) He went back home as an amazing blues player and became famous for his music, he was eventually poisoned by the husband of a jealous fan I believe. Also have a lot of time for Billie Holiday she is one hell of a female blues artist. John Lee Hooker, Howlin Wolf etc etc all great classics. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
