I Had A Few Hours On The Barley Margins.

I saw a few birds dropping onto the 15ft margins they have cut on my permissions the other day so I thought I would go down and have a go.

 

I had about 15 shells placed out and a bouncer in the barley itself.

 

Ended up with a bag of about 40 not bad for the first time I had tried it on an uncut crop.

 

I know I may have ruined my chances of bigger bags on that field now but the pheasants are going in the pens this week so I may not have another chance on that field being so close to the pen.

 

But finding them in the barley is another story without a gundog.

Whys it was red your chances?

Because Its only a week or so from being cut.

 

But my impatience has got the better of me, they were queing up on the pylon wires almost waiting for it.

 

Thing is they could be a bit more spooky now dropping into that corner of the field, just a theory but still plenty more to go at.

Shot 61 this aft 3 crows and 2 maggies,

 

Had there been another man at the other side of the field we would have broke the ton easy, who need flappers eh!
