Best Tunnel For Stoat Trapping

There are alot of designs but wonderd what you guys think is best, stone tunnel? In a wall? Mesh tunnel? Wooden tunnel? Double entrance ? Single entrance? Whats best guys???

But they are right Peter. Just enjoy trying different things and adapting to different environments and see what works. That's the enjoyment of trapping I find.

Whatever fits the trap site. Make sure (if you are using Fenn's) that the clearance above the top of the trap is very tight when the trap is sprung otherwise your stoat can escape over the top.

Ok ive got one in a wooden/mesh tunnel and 13 in stone tunnels.

Fenn traps that is. Ive resorted to using a mk6 trap as i ran out of mk4's...will a mk6 do the job for a stoat or weasle?

Aye i was block trapping burrows last year and i caught more stoats and weasels than rabbits with the mk6's

its prob not a weasal taking your bait. Concentrate on setting in the right place and think of bait as an added extra and dont over do it with rubbish second rate baits

the one, can i ask what part of the country your in? or if in another country? as iv heard theres weasels + stoats around here the newport s wales area but never in my life see a live or dead on to date lol , not even seen a live mink, cheers mate foxtails
