Selling One, And Then Buying Another....

Recommended Posts

Right, just so im happy...it was explained but im not that smart.

If i buy a .177 hmr and decide to sell it and buy another, i dont have to do a variation.

I just sell one, tell the firearms team, then buy another and tell the firearms team. Is this correct? or can some one explain it a bit better for me

you sell the one you have and then apply for a one for one variation for the authority to buy another, its free

is that more paperwork or can i call up and do it.

I really struggled writing out the application form, (im a non speller tyPe he he)

its the same blue form as your initial application only you tick the box variation and there is no need to fill in some sections

ok i can live with that.

It might never happen but ill keep it in mind.

Now on my licence it says .177, .22, .303 FAC AIR, .17hmr and .22lr

This means i can own a .22 FAC AIR and a .303 FAC AIr

a .17hmr

and .22lr

all at the same time? (im thinking .22LR as lamping tool, and .17hmr as day tool)

i read that as you can own 177,22 and 303 air plus a 17hmr and a 22lr mate

Long range rabbits and short range fox on permission only certified for air. Plus the permission is flanked by farm animals.

I put a good case to FEO and he is happy with it. Win some lose some

expensive though :hmm:

I'm not sure what it's like in other counties but in Warwickshire I have never filled a form in for a variation.

I simply send my letter in with my FAC saying I've sold "Rifle A" and request a one for one so I can buy "Rifle B"

My last variation/one for one took 20 minutes as I hand delivered my letter and FAC and it was done while I waited.

Also conditioned it for 'Deer and other legal quarry' rather than Deer & Fox etc.
