WHATS the best wormer for ferts

Recommended Posts

Garlic is supposed to be good at preventing worms. Half a clove crushed into a bowl of bread and milk. Bread and milk being purley an easy thing to put it into, not a diet or anything.

Could be an old wives tale though :hmm: Come to think of it, it probably is

It would be easier just to gut them first

Never seen a tape worm in a rabbit or ferret.never fed intestines to the ferrets anyway.Never seen worms in my ferrets or their poop.

Once found a big liver fluke on a rabbit's liver which gave me the creeps.

Are you sure your vet is not trying to sell you some pills you don't need.

You've been really lucky then mate, at the moment about one in every three i'm catching is carrying tapeworms and their not only in the intestines. The cysts can be anywhere in the rabbit I got one the other day that had got a big lump in one of it's back legs, when i'd skinned it and had a closer look it was a tapeworm cyst.

These cysts can be anywhere, i have found them in the past deeply embedded into the back legs, i only knew they were there when i was chopping a rabbit up for ferret food, it puts you off eating them when you see them fecking cysts, i know they are killed off by freezing and cooking, but i wouldn't fancy a mouthfull of these....vomit-smiley-019.gif....,
