Nobby 65
Just a guess Tree sparrow most nest in holes or nest boxes but sometimes they nest in trees and make a bit of a dome.

Guest Ditch_Shitter
I'd probably have never guessed that after the 'Cherry Picker' referance threw me so far out. Despite the fact that, some decades ago and - for all I know - to this day; In Victoria Park, in Portsmouth, they had these huge, walk through green houses. They grew full sized palms and all sorts in there ~ these buildings were high as houses! And, yes, House Sparrows got in through the roof lights and nested in there. I'll always remember this scruffy, straw made, deep, domed nest. Just like that one. Only about eight foot up on the trunk of some sort of hairy palm tree. Thought provoking. juckler123 707
At my last house we had a load of clay plant pots in the garage that the sparrows used every year making like a wrens nest with an entrance hole at the top.
