I watched Cinderella man last night for the first time,,, I thought it was a good film , what a shit time they lived through in the Great Depression ,, and hats off to him for what he did,,, giving back his social security money after he won a couple of big fights...

 

As with most films based on true story's, I end up on google reading how much is true,,, wich was the first thing I did this morning ....lol

Seen the film a few years ago now when it first came out...probably quite and accurate portrayal of the facts...Braddock was a decent fighter and a good human being...in those days social welfare carried a certain stigma unlike today's society where the biggest percentage of claimants see it as a rightful entitlement...

Dont think ive ever seen a good boxing film......most of them you just lose respect for the whole film the minute you see them fighting :D

Thought that Hurricane Carter one was a good watch....and Raging Bull of course........i just wish they wouldnt show the fight scenes :laugh:

Is that not a documentary though rather than a film with actors ?.....or am i getting mixed up with the Will Smith one.......not sure if ive seen either come to think of it !

. No thats shite the documentry is when we were kings. The rumble in the jungle very good

I remember a documentary called Champions Forever ......Ali/Frazier/Foreman/Norton.......might even of been Holmes as well i forget now......all looking back on their careers and fighting each other it was a nice watch.

Yeh that's exactly how I feel gnash,,that's why I hadn't watched it befor,, but cos I was at work last night, and feck all else on I watched it,,,, and the reason I liked it ,, was the story of his life ,,, and the hardship of the times.
