FUJI 16,275 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Share Posted February 17, 2013 With the weather forecast to be good today I thought there would be no lie in today,so I was up at 6am,cuppa tea,bowl of porridge then off out with the dogs,I only live 15 mins or so from the Northern Fells so as I arrived it was showing -1C in the car but you could tell it was oing to be a cracking day..I just went up Rannerdale Fell and along to Buttermere village..so I was up above Crummock and basically a hop skip and a jump from Buttermere lake as the two are very close to each other..it ain't the hardest of walks but I have known easier lol..a fecking lot easier!..I took the two pups Boots & Fife,my Cur x Don & the Pom Ruby...I had a good three hours up on the Fells,dogs had a good hunt about,plenty of sheep high up which I walked amongst frequently and purposely with having the pups and as you know it's an ongoing lesson with young dogs...poor Don never even got home as my lad wanted him to do a job with Reggie his son & the Patterdales so I met up with my son on my way home and Don was away again haha..we only managed one run and Don duly missed it lol but it wasn't about catching today it was just great to be out and about having a wee trek... To be honest Tiny we don't appreciate it,I think anyone who lives outside cities are much the same lol...our island ain't that big so wherever you live you are within a couple of hours of seeing much the same?... I live in Northamptonshire well on the borders of Northamptonshire/Warwickshire/Leicestershire type thing. I live in a small village and like you say you take it for granted just walking out the door and on real nice country iam talking couple of 100yds bang straight on too it(Decent game land also) . Its only when you stop and really look that you see the things you take for granted everyday.... Only really time i see tyour sort of views is when iam head home for the weekend (Glasgow )..... Anit been in yrs now tho if things pan out ill have a trip up in the summer 1 Quote Link to post
