depends on the dog and the work, ive got a dog here 11 this year and still works, hes got his limitations but is still a very usefull dog. he lamps and bushes ok, i tend to use him for retrieving shot game and flushing aswell, his son is a pure speed merchant so they compliment each other in the daytime

How long is a piece of string ?? Lurchers are a "Type", not a breed. They range from, say, Beddy/Whippets to Deerhound/Wolfhounds ! The work they do varies from ferreting to deer coursing ! Then there is also how much work the do, what conditions they are kept in, etc ! So It's an impossible question to answer....or ask !!

This little bitch will be eight this year, but i reckon she has got a season or two left in her !! Her breeder called by the other day, and I hope he was still impressed with her !
