Hi lads,

 

Just wondering what elastic you use on your catapult, I've had to types the small square stuff and also the elastic on the strike 9 catapults but only seems to last a year then snaps, is there a way off treating them to stop this?

 

Any help would be great

elastic does not like sunlight,, it does not like frost or cold... ive been trying to cover my tbg in cheap tubes to make it last longer,, but its still under my tests, :) but thera band gold is cheep.. so @£6 per year for a new lenth wont break the bank ..hope this helps ...

Any catapult rubber that lasts a year is great rubber!

 

Like Mick says, rubber perishes in sunlight. It will also degrade after usage over time, I wouldn't recommend covering Theraband with tube as this will decrease the speed of it.

 

Rubber is fastest when it's warm, after drawing your catapult you should release it as fast as possible to get maximum speed from it as it quickly cools down after it is drawn.
