farmer run over trying to stop hare coursers

Recommended Posts

It won't be long before hare coursing is viewed the same as badger digger. We can still remember when it was legal, but in another 10/20 years it will be no different to how people see badger digging. It's a shame but the kids of today might as well get a gun dog insted of a lurcher as its just too much hassle for them.

it always as been mate, was 25 years back and its no differnt to day. The bottom line is 90% of farmers+land owners dont want lurchers on there ground (ban or no ban) . As most know they would rather shoot the hares than let running dogs get them . What pisses me off is when couple lads are on foot and only after few hares, and just doing thay (nout else) , and the farmer or land owners do the above on post or call the coppers , they never give some lads any chance what so ever. After all a hare only a big rabbit and both do damage to there crops. Ithink alot of farmers+landowners (over react ) not all lurcher owners wreck ground or pinch things, but treated like as most farmers do to lurcher owners , (what do you expect)

With the law maybe, but it will soon be on par with the general public. Many people would still tell a non hunting friend that they are going hare coursing, or hunting hares within the law, but would be frowned upon if they said they was going badger digging or even shooting them as part of the government cull. In twenty years time, openly talking about coursing will be a thing of the past. And IMO it definatly getting worst with regards to permission and farmers, probally due to all the media attention.

A fine and a slap on the wrist for first coursing conviction............... 6 months of porridge, a sore arse and a life ban on keeping dogs for first badger conviction............ don't kid yourself, they're not the same. Public opinion is the same but the punishments are a world apart.

this is one of the effects of making it illegal, risks are higher, thus making ppl drive fields, thus making ppl go to extremes to try and escape! even if it means knocking someone over in order to evade capture, losing your vehicle, jail, fines losing your stock, this is what the anti hunting law is creating, if it was still legal might have ended in a different scenario,at the worst a little roll about with the farmer, but because of the risk of above mentioned punishments the lads werent staying about, obviously, !!!

please do not take offence Kevin as its not a dig at travelers, its a dig at the people that give most travelers a bad name i.e "piss on thier own door step, pinch lead off church roofs etc" alot of travelers are salt of the earth people its just a term that labels "that type" just like chavs or scrotes..... same deal.

Never mind the legal issuse of poaching. Where and when, would anyone think its acceptable behaviour to run a man over whos only protecting his livelyhood ??

Folk tear arsing around in Scooobys are not dog men, thats not respecting the land and quarry they hunt..

They could be adding attempted murder to the charge sheet.

Its not good and it wont help anyone when they attempt to put a pro hunting case forward. They will have everyone bannded as diesel stealing, crop damaging low life thugs..
