ok guys busy week here for me again .

lst week mas production this week finnished knives of a slightly higher calibre !

first job of the week socks sent this knife for a refurb .

thisweek35_zpsf4d039c4.jpg

thisweek34_zpsea20a502.jpg

bit of elbow grease and some leather work later .

thisweek13_zps911c6d26.jpg

thisweek12_zpsa1fae951.jpg

the pitting is permanant so they had to stay where they are as the metal is thin as is , i did a wet form sheath with antique look .

then was on to this bushcrafter , its not full sized and would suit a smaller hand, lads/ ladies although it does fit in my hand and is safe , its very sharp and sports my own burl oak handles with brass pins and lanyard , with my take on a bushcraft sheath , articulated with brass hoop . all in all i love this knife that was once a file !

that done i moved on to some damascus i forge weeks ago . its a 20 to 30 layer billet that i worked in two difgferant ways to get differant effects , first is this one .

iv not made a large knife for along time now and wanted something for seriouse hunting of larger game or camping bushcraft etc .

handle is green and black dymond wood which is laminated wood that is stabilised wih impregnated resin , water and shock proof and can not warp or move . the sheath is my fav today it has a 3x welt at the top which holds the blade in with out and clips etc , again articulated with brass hoop . the pattern is "whales throat camo" i just made that up ! straight laminate that i randomised , as you grind through the billet you expose another layer .

any way i really like this one to ! materials for the blade are 15n20 nickel steel and reclaimed steel from an antique two man wood saw blade i had .

thisweek25_zpsaae43f8e.jpg

then the next one started from the same billet , but i put 3 twists in it each one in the opposite direction to the last , the third is in the handle are and has exposed a star , handle is butterscotch buffalo horn and you can see the etched pattern under the scales . setting is burl oak board and silver birch burl , i want this one to go on ebay as a leter opener as i want to try new markets .

il have one last pop at selling it then if that does not work , il gift it to gemma she thinks its really nice !!

and thats good because when i met her she was all animal rights and almost vegan .

now she hunts her own dog , shoots and eats meet !!

so another knice knife in her collection might inspire her even more !! (she has damascus all sorts of knives iv made her now i think she has more than me !! 5ft tall and 7 stone very grily with a big bad ass knife collection and hunting bull terrier !

Been busy with other things so not made a knife for a while. There is a KITH over on EM and the challenge was to make a Puukko form recycled materials....right up my street.
Blade ground form a HSS industrial planer blade. Handle is stacked from recycled brass, copper, stainless and filled in with denim Micarta. All cast onto the handle in a oner then ground to shape.
