Well. Im certainly looking forward to my knife arriving. I must have a good eye for a decent knife seeing as everybody seems to have 'my' knife as their signature.....i say 'my' knife but it is a gift for my old man.

matt i agree mate is a piss take hi jacking your thread to advertise other services.

as you mention this a couple of times mate the signature can be very easily removed if you wish, however a member put this together to try help matt out with some free advertising and a few of us are more than happy to help.the pic of the knife is a good pic of a good knife and it was matt who made and took the pic so didnt think this would cause an issue it can quite easily be changed for "another" knife as im sure matt has plenty of other just as good a qual. ity knives to choose from.

atb

That wasnt what was intended. I am just saying that i must have a good eye for a good knife if yous think its good enough to put on your signature. Keep it on, i didnt intend to come across as being funny.

Im emphasising the 'my' as its not destined for my ownership but my fathers

Cant argue with you there  Ive named my dogs, my knives and will probably name a horse when I eventually buy another.... Yet I cant be bothered to name the cat, the ferrets, the canary, the goats or the chickens lol.

a little update that might go some way to apoligise to those waiting on orders etc .

last week i was run ragged very very tired .on the way back from collecting the laser cut blanks from rotheram the car went pop , oil pump or something .

well we limped home and got in some time round 2 am , we only have one car and the mrs uses it fopr her work and no dosh to buy a new one ..

long story short we have borrowed the money and got another 10 year old banger .

on top of all that i was so tired it was rediculous so had a break .

i heat threated, tempered and serface ground 20 blanks yesterday of which 5 where no good , today i managed to get 10 done and its been a learning curve , i will explain.

now its never easy to make any knife but to make them so they are carbon copies of each other is gonna be a big ask . so lots of set up, measuring, jig making etc later im ready to grind , first blanks no problem came out just as i wanted so it was time to do the buschraft knives . well i now know why the woodlore ones are so expensive , they are a nightmare to get right !! i did it but it took 3 blades before i got the 1/3 scandi grind they require.

you see you need to bite the bullet and plunge into it as you wont know if you got it right till you have finnished one . i need a scandi grind , ground to 0 no more than 1/3 up the blade . sounds easy its bloody not , i went way to high and to flat on 2 of them before i had the machine adjusted enough to get the angle , once done you have to make a jig so you can get that angle every time !! its taken from 12 noon til now to get 5 done !!

i might tweek it some more over the weeks to get the very very best of them , the ones that arnt a correct scandi grind are superb and better suited to hunting in my opinion and im able to do the same grind as and when required .....

lots of excusess but there all true and i have had to lay out so much money up front to do this its crazy , but hey its done now and the results are promising .

i will have 10 blanks to sell tomorrow for you guys , and i will be almost back ontop of orders etc mid week to .

i have got to do some sums guys and it looks like im a charity unless i lift the price a tiny bit , but i will give warning before then and try to keep them the same until new year .

so anyone that is waiting thank you for being patient , i had to clear my pm box so please dont take offence if you have asked for something and the pm has been deleated , simply send a new pm to me , however im closed to new orders for a few weeks as im snowed under and have alot of things i need to do ontop of orders .

til tommorow then

all the bnest , matt

im not quite at loss but its a fine line , if i bugger any up im screwed .

i wanted to say yesterday even tho these may look simple knives they are actualy at the edge of my ability and equipment , its not because of anything else other than i want each one to be the same as the last , just grinding a peice of steel until its right is alot easier than this because you have free movement to get it right , these have a set pattern and there is not much room for error .

as soon as i can im getting more designs done another bushcrafter so there will be 3 , one larger hunter and a couple of smaller knives , i just need the funds out of this lot to go ahead with them .

oh and we need the compotition knife !!

Been busy with other things so not made a knife for a while. There is a KITH over on EM and the challenge was to make a Puukko form recycled materials....right up my street.
Blade ground form a HSS industrial planer blade. Handle is stacked from recycled brass, copper, stainless and filled in with denim Micarta. All cast onto the handle in a oner then ground to shape.
