New to Ferreting

Hi,

i have just got 2 ferrets they are 10 weeks old i dont know a lot about ferrets but been reading up on them and want to work them at some point i have made a cage and put in bits of tube etc so they don't get bored. Should i put wood shavings down in the cage or just where they do the toilet?

How is the best way to handle them so they get to know?

Anyother tips etc?

handle them like any other baby animal, gently an often, all the best with them

handle them as much as you can and they will be fine , when they get excited they nip and bite just like a puppy or kitten. so dont let it put you off if they nip , also be carefull if you have smells of food on ya hands befor you handle them

If you feed them before handling, they will not be so boisterous with a full belly.

If they do bite, push gently towards the back of their mouth so they have to move their head to get free.

i have recently become a ferret owner after 25 yrs away from them.dont be affraid to ask questions pal. its the only way we find stuff out. if you do decide to work them, get yourself a locater.

More you handle them the more you can do with them I handle mine as soon as I get them and I can do any think with them
